Indiana Heritage Quilt Show: The Next Generation
Bloomington’s annual Indiana Heritage Quilt Show welcomes three very special new exhibitors this year. There are three young quilters with creations in this year’s show, ages 7-9. IHQS Quilt Show organizers are very excited to be displaying works from the next generation of quilters.
All three of these talented young ladies have close ties to the Bloomington area: sisters Greta and Marta Stephenson are Bloomington residents; Elaine Hilton lives in Greenfield, but spends a lot of time in Bloomington visiting her grandparents.

Indiana State Senior Bowling Tournament Rolls into Bloomington this Weekend
The event will take place April 4-11 and April 13-19, bringing between 1,500 and 2,000 bowlers to the Bloomington area to compete for senior state championship honors in a variety of divisions. The estimated economic impact of the event is $2.7 million.

2009 AAU Girls’ Super Regional Tournament

Monroe County Welcomes Show Choir Competition
The 17th Annual Contest of Champions Show Choir Invitational, scheduled for February 28th will bring junior high and high school students from across the Midwest to compete for top honors at Edgewood High School in Ellettsville. More than 30 groups of students will be on hand, totaling over 1,300 student musicians and performers all in one venue. According to the event organizers, the estimated economic impact of this event for the Monroe County area is between $25,000 and $35,000.

Bloomington to host '09 AAU Girls' Super Regional

Bloomington Welcomes ASA National Championship

Upland Winter Warmer Wins Silver at 2008 World Beer Cup
Upland's Winter Warmer brought home a Silver medal in the Brewers Association World Beer Cup 2008, a global competition recognizing the most outstanding beers produced in the world. The winter seasonal, barleywine-style beer was awardced the silver medal in the Old Ale beer style category. Upland is one of two local brewing companies located in Bloomington, Indiana.

Bloomington CVB Hosts Spring FAM Tour for Meeting Planners
The Bloomington/Monroe County Convention and Visitors Bureau was responsible for bringing more than a dozen meeting planners to the area this past weekend. The planners, from a variety of different industries and markets within Indiana, attended the CVB’s annual spring familiarization tour. The purpose of the FAM tour was to showcase the Bloomington area to meeting planners that could potentially bring future meetings and conferences to the area.

Over 35 teams will compete in six age divisions during this two-day basketball tournament. Winners in each age group will advance to the AAU Girls' Baksetball National Championship later this summer.
